Would you believe that after postponing for snow twice, it snowed today? And rained? So we didn't get a snowball fight, but no matter, it was so much fun. The only other time in costume that could compare to just how much fun it was is the chemise dress extravaganza at Costume College ( Read more... )

The paletot is completely done!

The buttons are sparklely and pretty.

It just needs a very good ironing :)

And a side note, do you ever sometimes when you finish a project feel lost? Not exactly sure what to work on next, have patterning, etc. It's very odd. I get the same feeling with books,

I really do prefer to take pictures of things on me and post those first, but that doesn't always happen. And since I promised...

( On the dressform. Of course, it fits me better, the color is way off (although I like this shade of purple too!), it's just pinned shut, all the usual excuses... )

Today I finished the sleeves, which means tomorrow I need to do the collar, front facings and closures. I can handle that in a day, I think. Of course, I seem to have lost the decorative buttons I want to use which are vintage black glass. Hopefully they'll turn up! Finish the paletot tomorrow. I think this is doable. I just need to hem both layers (the purple is about 1/4 done), finish picking tissue out of the soutache, insert the lining (it's sort of bag lined (eep!), only wrong sides together in the first place), sew the bottoms of the sleeves together, make the collar and front facing and closures.
